STOP THE MADNESS!!!
Besides the overly agreesive homophobics here, we have so little to differentiate ourselves from "The Other Place". If we see emoticons start to pop up, it'll be like the Black Death and soon no one will be able to tell one site from the other. Well, if you overlook the overwhelming use of deragatory commentary here, that is.

What a perfect analogy--emoticons, like fleas, clinging to us in some ethernet sense, as we socialize among different websites, only to bring the beasts back with us to our original enclave...to find it spreading, infecting one and all. Then, rising from the sparse remains we will find that the darkness has been removed, as only those resistant to the love and joy they spread (ack) will survive.

Ha! Realized I worded that poorly, besides the typo--I meant to imply that those of the touchy feely nature would survive since they would be resistant in that sense (already possess the trait) but when I have to explain my lame commentary like this, it really reveals I have far too much time on my hands...

Perhaps, in this newly dawning Orwellian society within the walls of the Forum, where paranoia and suspicion run rampant, we have become over-sensitized to anything new or alien. Those who come bearing emoticons, no matter how well intentioned and how cute and/or fluffy those emoticons may be, will only be met with distrust and fear. We do not embrace change well here in our little world and can sometimes attack those we see as threats with great visciousness and violence. Can this atmosphere be changed? Can we summon the will to dampen these primal urges that only serve to further isolate our dysfunctional "family"?
Nope, aint gonna happen. Cram the emoticons and get back to your side of the island.

The emoticon: phenotypical expression of the nerdy genotype in the cyberspace environment.

I'll have to check the www.sherdog.com forum for Tito, he'd be a snowball in hell -at best, banned in his first "MMA is gay" posting.

Oh, perfect, at least I know who to blame if that black day ever comes.

Wait, if you look over in the corner, above the rather well-used coat rack, next to the rather grimy portrait of Frank Sinatra and Sammie Davis, you can just read a sign...the one covered in years of cigarette smoke and abandoned hopes:

"We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone at anytime. Especially to any freaks trying to sneak in overly playful and child-like animations that are intended to act as manifestations of human emotions."
